A paradigm shift is underway in Outdoor Design & Specifications. Innovations are impacting all finish wood applications specified in exterior design, leveraging 20-year durable, and dimensionally stable, 100% natural wood in outdoor spaces. TM Natural wood – available in over ten-plus hardwood and softwood species - is authentic real wood, does not retain water so resists warping, lowers repair/replacement and maintenance budgets while elevating user-experiences with intimate and human connections where natural wood excels. This shift can replace pressure-treated wood in many spaces as well as plastic-faux-wood composite products and increasingly rare exotic rainforest species in all exterior applications 

In this program, we will review the process of thermal modification, its national impact in Parks & Recreation and all Outdoor Space Design & Specification, and high-heat dried TM wood’s technical insights, including detailed information about the product's processes, specifications, uses/applications, pricing, and performance.

Bryan is a senior account manager and architectural sales lead at Northern Ohio Lumber and Timber, where he helped to build and grow the company’s thermally modified wood division in Ohio.  He specializes in cultivating relationships with architectural firms, general contractors, and luxury home builders. And delivers AIA-approved continuing education courses.  His work has contributed to high-profile developments including McCombs Family Plaza at Cleveland State University and the Geauga Lake Redevelopment.  Bryan was named to the LBM Journal 40 Under 40 Class of 2026, a recognition of rising leaders in the lumber and building materials industry. Bryan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Akron’s Honors College, with a focus in sales and Marketing management.
