First, Join us for an educational seminar "From ANSI to Fair Housing" as our past president, Kirk Paisley, shows how to apply the technical dwelling unit provisions of the recently adopted ICC/ANSI A117.1 -17 in conjunction with the requirements of the previous (2009) version, the Building Code, the Existing Building Code, and the Fair Housing Act. 

Then, put your design and construction knowledge to the test as Kirk puts on his quizmaster hat to challenge you with a wide range of design/construction related trivia questions. Kirk is the President and Owner of BDCL Architects serving as the in-house architect for West Chester, Ohio based Pivotal Housing Partners.  Pivotal Housing Partners is one of the largest affordable housing developers in the country, developing housing for those in need utilizing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.  Kirk has 24 years of experience in the Architecture field with knowledge across the gamut of the industry - from design and construction documents to construction administration.  This includes projects in several different sectors including: Multi-family Housing, Industrial, Commercial, Office, Restaurant, Municipal, and Educational.  Kirk began writing specifications in 2004 and trained under the late George A. Van Niel, AIA, FCSI, CDT while working at Horne & King Architects.  It was that foundational knowledge that propelled Kirk into a career of writing specifications and project management.  Kirk has been very involved in the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), serving as Columbus Chapter President in 2009-2010, Ohio Valley (Cincinnati) Chapter President from 2022-2024, and currently serves at the Great Lakes Region President for the 2024-2025 term.  Kirk was recently awarded the Board Chair Plaque at the CSI National Convention for his work with the Ohio Valley Chapter and continues to expand his involvement with the organization.
